Imagine a world in which a silent minority bends under the yoke of the majority, and suffering in dozens of tangible ways every day. This is my sinistral reality, shared with approximately one-tenth of the global population.
Now imagine our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms – section 15, to be exact – with a tiny addition: that left-handed persons shall be held as equal and equally deserving, that left-handed implements of daily usefulness must be provided in, say, government offices (pens, scissors, computer mice and all) and that other concessions be made to accommodate those of us who do not fit into the Procrustean bed of the right-handed man.
I have a number of ideas to make this world a better place. How about you?
